About Me

I am from Dallas, Texas, born and raised! Texas will forever be my home and I will always believe there is no place like Texas! I am a wife to a wonderful husband, Zach, my college sweetheart. We met at Liberty University our freshman year, when I was just 17 and he was 18. I knew within just a month of dating him that he was the one I was going to marry.

We have a daughter, Savannah, who is 5 1/2, a son, Mason, who is 3, and amother son, Gavin, who is 1. We do also have one precious baby in Heaven who we never got to meet. Before I was pregnant with our son, we miscarried when I was roughly 5 weeks pregnant.

At Liberty, I received my B.S. in Psychology. I would love to further my education and complete my Master's one day!

I love helping people. I truly believe it is better to give than to receive. I love being there for people. I love to be that listening ear someone needs on a bad day.

I am passionate about many things… mothering my children is probably my biggest passion. I take parenting very seriously and try not to be that parent that makes excuses for everything their kids do. I believe that kids behave as a direct result of how they are parented and by telling ourselves any differently, we are setting both ourselves and them up for failure.

I am very passionate about breastfeeding. I am a member of the United States Breastfeeding Committee and have advocated making breastfeeding in the workplace more doable. I will help anyone who wants help with breastfeeding and try to provide those new moms (or veteran moms) who want to breastfeed, but maybe do not have many good supporters of it in their lives, the support system they need to be successful at it. I truly believe it is the best thing you can do for your baby and cherish every moment I spend nursing one of my own babies.

I love my family. I love having a big family. I love family gatherings. I would get together with my family every day if I could. I believe family is so important and you should never take for granted the time you have with them.

I love to cook! I cook almost every night. I also love to bake and it is not unusual for me to just whip up some yummy breads, a pie, or a cobbler. I do not think you need a special occasion to do these things and on special occasions, you can expect me to have prepared five or six dishes.
I love to sew. I will never throw away a pair of my husband's ripped jeans, but rather I will patch them. I love making things too. I just got done not too long ago helping my daughter make some clothes for her doll. I loved it!
While many may find this strange, I actually enjoy cleaning and think it is so important. I clean my house daily and do laundry daily. I just feel so good knowing everything is clean and in its place! I will forgo a potential nap (when my kids are napping) any day to make sure my floors and kitchen are clean! I'm likewise passionate about making sure my kids clean up after themselves and my daughter makes her bed daily. I think it is so important to make sure kids grow up with good habits like these.

I really try to be as domesticated as possible, doing things the way my grandmother often did in her house as a young mother. I do still enjoy fashion and being fashionable as well and think that balancing being domesticated and staying fashionable is way more doable than most people think.

Last, but certainly not least, I love Jesus will all my heart. I love to bask in conversations with Him, share my troubles or just my thoughts with Him, and try to discern and hear what He has to say to me at that given moment. I want nothing more than for my family to love and serve Him all the days of our lives.
